My Woo Woo Journey

Reiki, crystals, good vibes.... what do these words make you think. Usually, the first thought most folks have in the south is "Bless her heart, she's crazy." I was one of those southern folks who thought anything that had to do with crystals was of the devil. I had never heard about Reiki until around 10 years ago, and by that time, my mind was a wee bit more open.

In his book Vibrational Medicine, the author - Richard Gerber M.D. - explains that the current practice of medicine is based upon the Newtonian model of reality. The world is viewed as an intricate mechanism and the body a grand machine controlled by the brain the ultimate biological computer. Then came Einstein. "The Einsteinian paradigm as applied to vibrational medicine sees human beings as networks of complex energy fields that interface with physical/cellular systems. By rebalancing the energy fields that help to regular cellular physiology, vibrational healers attempt to restore order from a higher level of human functioning." (Vibrational Medicine)

I started my Reiki journey a year after my mother died. It was almost as if a switch flipped in my brain. I realized that I wasn't getting any younger. My emotional and physical well-being were not the best and I decided to do something about it. I reached out to a Reiki master that had been recommended to me, and as fate would have it, a beginning Reiki class was going to be held in 2 weeks. I've attended a lot of bible study sessions, retreats, and workshops and I can tell you right now, I have never felt like anything like it. I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be. My whole life aligned in one weekend. I continued classes and ended with my Usui Holy Fire Reiki Master Practitioner certification. I can't remember when I have felt more accomplished.

Crystal healing seemed like the next natural step on this journey. I have almost completed my crystal healing certification class (COVID-19 put the brakes on that just a bit) and I am excited to see what further insight and healing this will bring.

My Reiki journey has been very personal. My attitude, my openness, and my vulnerability have all been touched by my journey. Meditation, self-Reiki practice, crystal healing, tarot, plant based eating, and finding my tribe are all benefits from this spiritual journey.

I have been amazed at the healing I have experienced and the healing I have seen during my two-year journey. I am excited that I can now share my experience and knowledge with you. Welcome to the woo woo ride.
