“Yep.” That’s what I said. “You do not have to be here in my therapy studio in order to receive Reiki therapy.”

“Whaaaaaaat?”

Your reaction is understandable. I didn’t realize this could be done until I took my Reiki Level II class. This realization opened up a whole new world for me.

In reality, Distance Reiki sessions can be as effective as in-person sessions as the recipient is less likely to be influenced by suggestions from the Reiki practitioner or the treatment room’s environment, thus becoming more aware and receptive to pure Reiki.

Reiki is pure source energy. As defined on the Reiki.org website: The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". This energy can be accessed by an attuned Reiki practitioner and joined with anyone if that is the intention of both parties. Energy is neutral without intention. [We can take a deep dive into this in a later blog post.] For now, let’s accept this as a fact. If both the practitioner and the client set their intention to give and receive Reiki respectively, Reiki can and will flow from one person to the other without being bound by time nor distance. So, the moment Reiki is requested by the practitioner and the client has accepted it, Reiki is then flowing.
